A R30 billion project will see the establishment of a new central business district outside Ballito.

The centre will be a mixed-use, eco-friendly development and half of the 181 hectares will be dedicated to parks, gardens and wetlands, situated west of the N2 skirting the perimeter of the Umhlali golf course and residential estate.

The CBD will be as big as the Gateway Park Centre and half the size of Simbithi Eco-estate and will be the new meeting place between Durban and Richards Bay. The town will have an exciting mix of piazzas, boulevards, hotels, retail stores, wellness and medical related facilities, civic and social facilities, restaurants, offices and residential areas. The developer hopes to break ground in 2011.
